About Us
Phillips Manufacturing was established in 2012 under the name Phillips Welding Services by Blake Phillips in his senior year of high school while working as a contract welder using a custom-made welding trailer. Blake would skip school to work and build funds to re-invest into his welding operation. After months of working, he was able to buy his first welding truck. Eventually, he outgrew that truck and upgraded to a bigger welding truck with more carrying capacity for more tools. After years of working long days and many late nights at a shop where he would spend many hours on projects he was doing on the side, he bought his first plasma table, band saw and other welding shop machines. During this time, a local heavy equipment salesman had asked Blake if he was able to build a grubber...little did he know that would be one of his best-selling products someday. In 2017, Blake was in an unfortunate accident that forced him to change course and focus on his side gig of building grubbers. As time went on, he hired his first employee and added more machines such as press brakes, welding machines and lathes, while also adding more products to the lineup. In 2020, Phillips Manufacturing moved into their new shop, while also adding more machines and personnel. Since then, more machines have been added, and in 2024, the shop was extended, adding weld cells for more employees. In 2026, the business transitioned to Phillips Manufacturing from Phillips Welding Services and added a Mechanical Engineer to staff.
